I'm quitting social media
I'm hitting pause for the next year and using the time that I would have spent on social media to dive into my creative projects and goals. Can I just say. . . I AM SO EXCITED!
You might be wondering: "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?! DON'T YOU KNOW HOW IMPORTANT SOCIAL MEDIA IS??" Well yes, I do, but that's precisely why I'm stepping back. Trying to live up to the hype of social media has me all kinds of exhausted and depleted, so much, in fact, that by the time I sit down to write actual stories, I have nothing left. So, I'm setting a boundary in place in order to heal from that.
My hiatus begins on April 1, 2017, and I'm planning to stay off of my personal social media accounts (my personal Facebook profile, my Angelina Danae Facebook Page, my Angelina Danae Instagram, and my Angelina Danae Twitter) for a year, including posting, scrolling, stalking, etc. 🤷♀️ You might still see me on the What About Marriage accounts every now and then, but Joshua will be handling most of that so I can truly unplug.
I'm a hermit by nature, so this chance to disappear for a little while and say goodbye to so many of the pressures prominent on social media has me all giddy over here, like a throw-cake-on-the-floor kind of giddy. I'm not anticipating any huge revelations during this time away, just small, quiet moments and perhaps some restored peace and sense of inspiration. And I wanted to invite you along—not only to share in this journey but also to hold me accountable. (Pssstt, here's a little bit more about why I'm unplugging.)
However small or large the changes are that I encounter in the next year, I want to share that with you. Sign up below to stay in touch while I attempt to navigate life social-media-free!
